We women are good at hiding things. We're so good at it, we can even hide things from ourselves. And we don't realize the places where our armor needs repair. But the enemy of our souls is fully aware of them, and he does not ignore them. This is why it is so important for us to maintain our armor of God.

How can I repair my armor?

The Refueling Warriors Retreat offers a day designed to help you repair the cracks in your armor and bring rejuvenation so you can engage with your world in the fullness of joy.

It can be difficult to find a week (or even an entire weekend!) where you can break away to focus on yourself. The Refueling Warriors Retreat is designed to take you where you are now and move you forward—both spiritually and emotionally.

How can I repair my armor?

The Refueling Warriors Retreat is a day designed to help you repair the cracks in your armor and bring rejuvenation so you can engage with your world in the fullness of joy.

It can be difficult to find a week (or even an entire weekend!) where you can break away to focus on yourself. The Refueling Warriors Retreat is designed to be a day focused on you that will take you where you are now and move you forward.

Why use horses? (And will I have to ride one?)

Quite simply, horses are sentient. They respond to about 10 percent of what we say. The rest comes from the non-verbal cues you give them. They respond to your non-verbals honestly, and it gives you a chance to step back and reflect on how your family and friends may be responding to you and think about what the root cause may be. Through these guided activities, horses can help shine a spotlight on those areas that need repair. And so often, the Holy Spirit will use these moments to speak to you and open your eyes to things you may not have been aware of previously.

During our time together, we will not ride the horses; all of our work with the horses will be "floor work." We will buddy up with the horses. We'll be working with them in an indoor arena, where we will guide them by leading. This will allow us the opportunity to interact with each other as a group as we go through the exercises together.

Your day actually begins before you arrive at the ranch. To  get the most out of your Refueling day, there's a little bit of reading and studying on the armor of God you'll need to do. But don't worry—there are no pop quizzes or essays to write. We just want to be on the same page when you arrive.

The day starts around 9:00 in the morning with breakfast and registration. We'll go over the "Warrior Ground Rules" and sign the waivers so we can work with the horses. We'll follow that with a quick overview of the day and pray together. Our first activity is usually with the horses, followed by a discussion about the armor of God. We'll break for a delightful catered lunch and a brief time to relax and chat. After lunch, we'll be back at work in the arena to work with the horses, and then we'll debrief. In the afternoon, we'll have an activity to help us focus on Philippians 4:8—Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things (NIV).

At the end of your retreat (around 5:00 p.m.), you'll walk away refueled, refreshed, and rejuvenated—energized to meet the demands of life and able to find the beauty of each day again.
